LA Live: Mazda Shinari concept

Mazda's latest Kodo design language has made its North American debut in the form of the Shinari concept car at the LA Auto Show.

Mazda's Shinari concept has made its North American debut at the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show. The Shinari marks a significant shift in Mazda's design language, ushering out its current Nagare design and introducing the new Kodo.

Mazda's Nagare design language was deemed a bit too organic -- especially for its small car offerings -- prompting the Japanese automaker to move in a new direction. The new Kodo design language is much more classical, using sharper lines in lieu of flowing shapes.

Mazda says the Kodo design language will eventually be seen throughout its lineup.

As for the concept car its self, it remains unknown if Mazda has any production plans for the four-door coupe. However, we imagine a similar shape might appear on the next generation Mazda6.
