Report: Fisker Karma to enter production in March, delivery date still unknown

The Fisker Karma will reportedly begin production in March, but it remains to be seen when the first examples will be delivered to customers.

The Fisker Karma didn't exact make its original 2009 launch date, or even its revised 2010 on-sale target, but Fisker spokesman Russell Datz says the plug-in sedan will make it to dealer lots in 2011.

Speaking with PlugInCars.com, Datz revealed "regular [Karma] production will start in March with deliveries expected to begin soon after." However, Datz left plenty of wiggle room, adding "pinning down a specific date" for delivery would "be difficult."

Previous reports support the Karm's fluid launch date, with dealers expected to have models to test drive sometime this spring, but with no concrete delivery date to relay to customers.

Fisker maintains it will sell 15,000 units of the Karma this year.

The Karma is expected to carry a base price of $95,900 - representing an $8,000 increase over the previously announced price. The mid-level Eco Sport model will list from $103,900, with the range-topping Eco Chic carrying a list price of $108,900. Destination will tack on another $950.
