Geneva LIVE: 2012 Saab 9-5 SportWagon

Saab's all-new 9-5 SportWagon has finally made its worldwide debut at the Geneva Motor Show.

Saab has pulled the sheet on its all-new 9-5 SportWagon at the Geneva Motor Show. The 9-5 SportWagon joins the 9-5 sedan that was launched last year.

Based on the 9-5 sedan that launched last year, the 9-5 SportWagon features styling inspired by the Saab Aero-X concept. The front half of the car is essentially identical to its sedan counterpart, but the rear of the wagon sports a falling roof-line and Saab's signature "Ëśwraparound' window glazing.

In order to give the 9-5 SportWagon as much versatility as possible, the wagon is equipped with a number of cargo solutions, including an adaptable multi-fold floor, flexible U-rail load space configuration and under-floor stowage with a sealed wet storage compartment.

The 9-5 SportWagon will be available with the same gas and diesel engines found in the 9-5 sedan, along with XWD all-wheel drive, Saab DriveSense adaptive chassis control, adaptive cruise control (late 2012), Bi-Xenon SmartBeam adaptive lighting, keyless entry and starting, tri-zone air conditioning and a Head-up Display.

Saab will begin taking orders for the 9-5 SportWagon this spring, with deliveries slated to begin in September. No word if the SportWagon will make it to the U.S.
