BMW ranked China's most-desired brand

BMW has been voted China's most-desired brand, beating out other global brands like Rolex and Audi.

China has quickly evolved into one of the most competitive luxury car markets on the planet, but a new survey reveals one brand stands above all others in the minds' of Chinese consumers.

According to a recent survey conducted by brand consultancy firm Clear Asia, BMW ranks as the most desired brand in China, beating out Apple, Rolex and even other luxury marques like Audi and Mercedes-Benz.

"BMW has a very strong and attractive brand personality in China," said Oliver Cartwright, Clear Asia's regional managing director in a statement. "It's seen as sexy and confident, exciting and sophisticated."

Although not as highly desired, Audi and Mercedes-Benz also scored well in the survey, ranking eight and 12th, respectively. "Both brands are admired, but neither has the emblematic brand personality of BMW -- and having a very distinctive personality is key to being a truly desirable brand," explained Scott Davies, director at Clear Asia.

The world, however, doesn't share Chin's viewpoint. On the global version of the survey, BMW ranked third, trailing Apple and Google.
