Honda Odyssey recalled over wiper defect

Honda has announced the recall of 33,000 Odyssey models over faulty windshield wiper blades.

Honda has announced the recall of its Odyssey minivan over faulty windshield wiper blades. The recall covers more than 33,000 2011 model year Odyssey vehicles.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, some 2011 model year Odyssey minivans may have been equipped with insufficient windshield wiper rods. If the blades of the wipers become frozen to the windshield and the wipers are activated, the rods could bend due to insufficient stiffness.

If that situation occurs, the wipers may not properly clear the windshield, increasing the likelihood of a crash. No crashes or injuries have been linked to the recall.

The recall, which officially covers 33,341 vehicles, will begin on April 4. Dealers will fix the problem by installing new windshield wiper rods.
