Trump: GM 'won't be treated well' after Barra's 'nasty' plant closures

The president suggests his revised USMCA trade pact will make it difficult for GM to move jobs out of the country.

President Donald Trump has continued to bash General Motors and CEO Mary Barra for the company's decision to end production at four US factories.

The closures will displace around 14,000 workers, representing 15 percent of the company's North American workforce.

"I don't like what she did," Trump told Fox News in an interview. "It was nasty ... I think she is making a big mistake."

The president warned that GM "is not going to be treated well" because of the decision, which represent a potential political setback following his campaign promise to bring back jobs to one of the cities affected by the closures.

"The new USMCA I made makes it uncomfortable to go out of the country," he added.
