The new Audi A6 will take center stage at the NY show.
Audi has announced that its all-new A6 sedan will make its North American introduction next week at the New York International Auto Show. The 2019 Audi A6 made its global debut earlier this year at the Geneva Motor Show.
The 2019 A6 doesn't take a huge step forward in terms of exterior styling — though bodywork is all-new — but the mid-size luxury sedan makes a big leap forward on the technology front. The 2019 A6 uses the same next-generation Audi MMI touch response infotainment system that debuted in the A8 and A7. Instead of using a conventional rotary dial, the system uses a dual touchscreen setup. The system is also fully customizable, so you can drag-and-drop controls for vehicle functions wherever you want them.
Audi has also improved MMI's voice recognition system for the 2019 A6. Drivers can now say things like, "I'm cold," and the A6 will respond with, "What temperature would you like to set the cabin to?"
For added convenience, the latest MMI learns your frequently driven routes and can suggest alternative routes based on traffic conditions. The new myAudi smartphone app, which is scheduled to launch later this year, adds a functionality that will continue a route started on a smartphone on the vehicle's in-dash system once you enter the vehicle.
The 2019 A6 also gets some added tech under hood. Audi has paired the A6's new turbocharged V6 with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system that promises to improve both efficiency and performance.
Pricing for the 2019 Audi A6 has not been announced, but that information should be revealed closer to the sedan's on sale date.
