The stylish Sportback is heading to the Motor City.
Audi has announced that its next-generation A7 will make its auto show debut early next year at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
Following its digital debut last month, it was assumed that Audi would show off its latest A7 model at the Los Angeles auto show, scheduled to kick off in late November. However, the German automaker confirmed to Automotive News on Wednesday that it will show the 2019 A7 for the first time in Detroit.
The 2019 A7 brings with it fresh styling and a host of technological updates. Every A7 model will ship standard with a 48V mild-hybrid system that promises to boost overall fuel economy. Other tech like four-wheel steering and remote parking will also be available.
Audi's A7 line could use a shot-in-the-arm. The current version of the stylish Sportback has seen its sales decline in recent months — sales are down by about 35 percent in Europe and 25 percent in the U.S. Global sales are down by about 40 percent overall this year.
Audi is hopeful that the latest A7 will gain some of the line's previous momentum. In 2016 the A7 outsold the flagship A8 for the first time ever.
