2019 Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid gets more power, bigger battery

Porsche's first model with 22-inch rims can launch to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds.

Porsche has detailed the 2019 Cayenne E-Hybrid, adding more power and a bigger battery for the latest model year.

The revised powertrain combines a 3.0-liter mono-turbo V6 gasoline engine and a single electric motor, delivering a combined output of 455 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque.

The extra oomph drops the hybrid's zero-to-60 mph benchmark from 5.4 seconds to 4.7 seconds, with a top track speed of 157 mph.

Drivers can expect to cruise for up to 27 miles on a single charge, according to the generous NEDC test cycle.

The broader Cayenne lineup has received a few other updates including 22-inch wheels (a Porsche first), massaging seats, heated windshield and head-up display.

The new hybrid will arrive early next year with a $79,900 starting price.
