Report: Cadillac to lead GM's EV strategy
Cadillac's upcoming Tesla-fighting EV is said to be underpinned by a new 'BEV3' platform architecture.
General Motors has picked Cadillac to lead its electric vehicle strategy, sources have told Reuters.
The luxury marque is expected to launch an all-electric vehicle that will be squarely aimed at Tesla, unlike the current Chevrolet Bolt that has struggled to grow as Tesla ramps up Model 3 production volume.
The Cadillac-badged EV is said to be underpinned by GM's new 'BEV3' platform architecture, presumably purpose-built for electric vehicles.
The company will reportedly make an official disclosure of the plans during an investor call today, though no additional details are expected.
