Project Neptune brings the British automaker's luxury and design to depths of more than 1,500 feet below the waves.

Aston Martin has teamed with Triton to build a luxurious submersible that can be launched from superyachts.Known as Project Neptune, the sub is based on Triton's three-seat LP platform that can dive to 1,639 feet and explore the depths for up to 12 hours on a single battery charge. The 60-inch pressure hull may feel a bit cramped, but it is air-conditioned and heated to stay comfortable.

"Project Neptune is defined by its sleek, elegant exterior," says Aston Martin creative chief Marek Reichman. "We have used forms and proportions that express the same devotion to design, engineering and beauty that shape our cars, such as the Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar project."

The Neptune is the first project commissioned by Aston Martin Consulting, a division that provides engineering and design services to outside industries.

The company has not announced a price or ship date for Project Neptune.
