Just 150 examples of the GT8 will be built.

Aston Martin will launch a more hardcore version of the V8 Vantage developed with racing in mind.Called GT8, Aston's next limited-edition model will be powered by a hand-assembled 4.7-liter V8 engine massaged to make over 420 horsepower and 347 pound-feet of torque. The additional power will send the coupe from zero to 60 mph in about 4.5 seconds. A seven-speed manual transmission will come standard, and an automatic gearbox will be offered at an extra cost.

The GT8 will be lighter than the series-produced Vantage thanks to the use of carbon fiber, aluminum, and titanium. Aston Martin's teaser sketch suggests it will come with a full body kit whose design will be loosely inspired by the one found on the sold-out GT12. Expect a deeper front bumper with a splitter, side skirts, a sizable air diffuser, and a large carbon fiber wing out back. The GT8 will ride lower than the Vantage, too, and it will be much wider.

British magazine Autocar reports Aston Martin will show the Vantage GT8 to a small group of potential buyers this week, meaning we'll likely find out more about it in the coming days. Production will be strictly limited to 150 units, and pricing will allegedly kick off at £170,000 (roughly $242,000).
