Aston Martin teases DBS Zagato, DB4 Zagato 'continuation'

The track-only historic cars will fetch a whopping $7.9 million USD per pair.

Aston Martin has teamed with Italian design house Zagato to build a new model and a series of 'continuation' replicas of historic models.

Celebrating Zagato's centenary year, the DBZ Centenary Collection will remake 19 pairs of DB4 GT Zagato cars. All stick to original specifications, meaning they will not be street-legal and instead bound for the track or static collections.

The DB4 is powered by a Tadek Marek-designed straight-six with 380 horsepower, delivered to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual gearbox and a limited-slip differential.

"As an engineer I would always say my favorite Aston Martin is the next one, but I have to say I'm struggling to think of a finer two-car garage than this!" says Aston CEO Andy Palmer.

The companies are also developing a road-legal modern car, named the DBS Zagato, that has been previewed in a rough sketch (pictured). It is billed as the "rarest of all modern-era Aston Martin Zagatos."

No price has been listed for the DBS, though the DB4 pairs will fetch $7.9 million USD.
