Audi shows e-tron Quattro prototype's interiorby Justin King
The company is slowly revealing more details after delaying its official debut.
Audi has revealed the e-tron Quattro prototype's tech-filled interior ahead of the SUV's official unveiling.
The production-bound EV features Audi's latest 'virtual cockpit' with several digital displays arranged across an arc that blends with the door trim.
The company claims the e-tron Quattro will be the first volume-production vehicle with virtual exterior mirrors, pairing small cameras with high-contrast seven-inch OLED displays in the interior. Drivers can shift or zoom the field of view and configure three views for different situations such as highway driving, turning and parking.
The mirrors will be an optional upgrade that is unlikely to be offered in the US market until the federal government revises its archaic safety regulations.
Audi had delayed the SUV's official unveiling after CEO Rupert Stadler was arrested in connection with the diesel emissions fiasco.
