Drivers will be able to use the menu settings to turn the transponder on or off and change the occupant settings for HOV lanes.
Audi is preparing to launch vehicle-integrated toll payment systems, eliminating the need to have an unsightly transponder Velcroed to the windshield.
Billed as a "vehicle-to-infrastructure" (V2I) technology, the Integrated Toll Module is built into the vehicle's rearview mirror and communicates with sensors used throughout the US and in parts of Canada and Mexico.
"Drivers will be able to adjust module settings through the vehicle's MMI - including turning the ITM on/off and changing the occupant settings for HOV/HOT lanes," the company says.
Owners can simply register the car's toll module with their existing account or a new account.
Audi has not yet listed which models will be equipped with ITMs when the technology rolls out later this year.
