Bugatti readying Chiron Divo with more downforce, new gearbox?by Justin King
The Divo is rumored to have a lower top speed compared to the standard production Chiron.
Bugatti is reportedly ready to reveal the Chiron's next special edition, rumored to be called the Divo.
Sources that attended a private preview event in Los Angeles claim the Divo will feature lighter weight and new gearbox designed for racing, according to TheSupercarBlog.
Despite the Divo's rumored lower weight, top speed has been reduced to 239 mph -- presumably due to higher downforce for faster cornering. Acceleration is expected to be quicker, however, beating the standard Chiron's 2.5-second 0-62 mph benchmark.
The report suggests Bugatti plans to build less than 100 units, each with a rumored price of $5.8 million before options. Amazingly, all are said to have been called for despite a sticker price twice as high as the Chiron Sport.
The Divo is expected to be officially unveiled at Pebble Beach in August.
