Revised wheel/tire setup and suspension could come to Chevy's sport sedan.
Chevrolet engineers may be working on a new track-oriented handling package for the SS sport sedan.
Inspired by the 1LE package for the Chevrolet Camaro SS, the option would likely include a "square" wheel and tire setup (equal sizes front and rear for neutral handling) and a revised suspension.
The SS was made available with a six-speed manual transmission and Chevrolet's adaptive suspension for 2015. Any hypothetical handling package would likely delete Magnetic Ride Control in favor of track-tuned dampers, but the project is still just a concept.
According to Motor Trend, the main obstacle to the introduction of such a package is cost, but if engineers get the green light, it could be ready in as little as three to six months.
