"Challenge accepted," the video says. "Its time has come."
General Motors has released a teaser video for the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE, which has apparently achieved an impressive Nurburgring lap time.
The Facebook video doesn't disclose the lap time, but GM presumably wouldn't be teasing if the 1LE didn't significantly raise the benchmark set last year when the basic ZL1 circled the Nordschleife circuit in just 7:29.60.
Both the ZL1 and 1LE share the same 650-horsepower supercharged V8 engine, Brembo brakes and other performance enhancements. The 1LE offers a few extra track-focused upgrades including a carbon fiber wing, adjustable suspension, a 60-pound weight savings and lighter aluminum wheels wrapped in wider Goodyear Eagle F Supercar 3R tires.
Tellingly, the super sticky rubber and extra downforce are claimed to help the 1LE can pull 1.10g on the skid pad.
"Challenge accepted," the Nurburgring video caption says. "Its time has come."
