Fiat has introduced the Europe-bound 500L Beats Edition, along with several new engine options.

Fiat has introduced a new 500L "Beats Edition," along with two new engine options for the five-door hatchback.

As expected, the Beats Edition features an upgraded sound system that has been tuned with the help of Dr. Dre and producer Jimmy Iovine. The car also follows the black and red color theme of the headphone company, with red stitching in the 'total black' interior and red accents on the two-tone grey/black exterior.

The broader 500L range brings a new 1.4-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that produces 120 horsepower and 159 lb-ft of torque, available at 2500 rpm. The company has also developed a dual-fuel option that can be powered by liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

The new 1.6-liter diesel powerplant also produces 120 ponies, with a higher torque output of 236 lb-ft. Performance is slightly behind the gasoline and dual-fuel engines, though the oil burner only adds a half second to the 0-62 mph time.

The 500L Beats Edition and new engine options will launch first in Europe. It is unclear if any of the offerings will make their way to the US or other markets.
