The episodes will cover topics ranging from Ken Block's design input to extreme testing and production preparations.

Ford has previewed a new video documentary series to promote the new Focus RS.The "Rebirth of an Icon" videos will follow development from the beginning, including early debates between Ken Block and Ford's chief technical officer Raj Nair during the early prototype stage.

Later segments focus on crash tests, extreme trials in hot and cold conditions, test-track drifting, and production preparations, among other subjects.

"The Focus RS is a unique performance vehicle with an incredible heritage. "This access-all-areas documentary perfectly captures what is at times a bumpy ride."

The RS boasts a projected 350 horsepower from its performance-tuned 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine, propelling the hatchback to 62 mph from a standstill in just 4.7 seconds. US buyers can pre-order now for 2016 delivery, with a starting price of $36,605.
