Ford F-150 Raptor gets cruise control for off-road drivingby Justin King
Trail Control works at speeds from one to 20 mph, automatically accelerating and braking in all 4x4 modes.
Ford has updated the 2019 F-150 Raptor with a new cruise control system that focuses on off-road driving.
Labeled Trail Control, the new feature can be activated at crawling speeds from just one mph up through 20 mph. Ford claims the Raptor is the only pickup that supports such operation in all 4x4 modes.
"The new feature can help overcome steep obstacles by automatically directing torque to each wheel then braking to smoothly bring the truck down on the other side," Ford explains. "It also can help in digging the truck out if it happens to get stuck in extreme sand."
The upgraded Raptor will begin arriving in showrooms later this year. The same Trail Control feature will also be available on the 2019 Ranger, due to arrive early next year.
