Ford shows 2019 GT Heritage Edition

The 2019 Heritage Edition is a tribute to the Le Mans-winning GT40.

Ford traveled to the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance to introduce the 2019 GT Heritage Edition. The supercar receives an appearance package that pays homage to the American Gulf Oil-sponsored GT40 that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1968 and 1969.

The latest Heritage Edition model proudly wears the blue and orange paint job applied to its race-winning predecessor. It rides on edition-specific 20-inch forged aluminum wheels finished in high-gloss dark stainless and it features orange calipers as well as silver mirror caps. The retro-inspired look continues inside with blue and orange contrast stitching on the seats and on the steering wheel.

Enthusiasts seeking a more exclusive car can order the Heritage Edition with exposed carbon fiber accents. For the 2019 model year, the GT receives number nine graphics on the hood and on the doors. Ford will offer number six graphics for the 2020 model year.

Every GT Heritage Edition gets a numbered plaque. Ford hasn't released information about pricing or availability, though it confirmed the Gulf option will disappear after the 2020 model year.
