A window sticker suggests the flagship will command a $10,000 premium over the Civic Si.

Honda has apparently decided to undercut the Ford Focus RS with the forthcoming Civic Type R in the US market.

The Type R will start at $33,900 (excluding freight), according to a photo of a window sticker posted by Carscoops. The picture was reportedly taken as the cars were labeled upon arrival in a US port.

The flagship Civic starts a few thousand dollars below the Focus RS, but lacks all-wheel drive. Engine output is also significantly lower, reaching 306 horsepower compared to 350 ponies in the RS.

The base Type R includes a long list of standard upgrades over the Si including Brembo front calipers, 20-inch wheels and a 12-speaker audio system, among other features.

Showrooms are expected to receive the first units in the next few weeks.
