Honda will unveil its all-new 10th generation Accord sedan on July 14. The next-generation Accord promises "dramatic" styling an a fresh powertrain lineup.

Honda released a single teaser image of its 2018 Accord, revealing a much sportier looking front end with close ties to the company's latest Civic model. It looks as though the 2018 Accord will also adopt a new-look LED headlight arrangement.

The Accord's shapely hood will conceal three new powertrain options. Base models will use the same basic 1.5L turbocharged four-cylinder used in the Civic line. A 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder will stand in for the Accord's current V6. The 2.0L engine will be related to the unit found in the Civic Type R, although it'll likely be de-tuned for use in the Accord. Honda will also offer a hybrid version of its next Accord.

Although the mid-size sedan segment is on the decline in the United States, the Accord remains an important vehicle for Honda. Sales of the sedan were up 5 percent to 33,547 units in May, although year-over-year sales are down 7.3 percent to 130,300 units.

The 2018 Honda Accord is expected to enter production before the end of the year.
