Honda teases 2016 Ridgelineby Drew Johnson
Honda\'s next-generation Ridgeline is nearly ready for its production debut.
Honda has published a teaser sketch that previews the all-new 2016 Ridgeline pickup truck.
The drawing gives us a few clues about the next-generation truck. In line with earlier spy shots, the Ridgeline depicted in the sketch sports a rear end treatment that is more in line with a typical pickup truck. It also appears as though the 2016 Ridgeline will come equipped with a longer bed for added utility.
Sticking with its lifestyle theme, the new Ridgeline is expected to be offered exclusively as a four-door.
Not much else is known about the next-generation Ridgeline, but it's safe to bet that it will continue to use V6 power and a unibody architecture derived from the automaker's all-new Pilot crossover. However, it's possible that the new Ridgeline will be offered with a version of Honda's upcoming VTEC Turbo four-cylinder engine.
A nine-speed automatic transmission will be available, and both front and all-wheel-drive Ridgelines are likely to return.
Honda is expected to take the wraps off the 2016 Ridgeline at the New York auto show that will open its doors next April.
