Select Infiniti owners can now control their vehicles via Alexa.
Following in the footsteps of its mainstream stablemate, Infiniti has announced that owners of select models will be able to interact with their vehicles via Amazon's Echo smart home speaker device. Nissan made a similar announcement earlier this month.
The new Amazon Alexa Skill will work in conjunction with Infiniti InTouch Services and Infiniti Connection. The Alexa Skill will allow Infiniti owners to remotely control some vehicle functions, such as door locks and remote start.
"We are pleased to offer this new technology in conjunction with Amazon Alexa to Infiniti owners, who have come to expect exciting innovations and conveniences from our brand," said Randy Parker, vice president, Infiniti Americas. "We are not only about bringing premium features to luxury vehicles but we are also looking to the advancements that will take our cars, and the transportation space, into the future."
The Alexa Skill is available for certain models dating back to the 2013 model year, including the M37, M56, JX35, QX56, Q50, Q70, QX50, QX60 and QX80. In order to access the service, owners must have an active subscription to Infiniti InTouch Services or Infiniti Connection.
