Detroit LIVE: Infiniti QX Inspiration concept
The stylish concept represents Infiniti's vision for a high-performance electric crossover.
Infiniti has brought its QX Inspiration concept to Detroit, providing a glimpse at the company's potential design language for all-electric vehicles.
Presented as a design study, the QX Inspiration carries unique styling that aims to highlight the performance characteristics of electric powertrains. The company says the concept serves as a 'precursor' to the brand's first all-electric vehicle.
"The QX Inspiration marks the beginning of a new generation of Infiniti cars and establishes a direct blueprint for the brand's first electric vehicle," said Infiniti president Christian Meunier. "Based on a new, dedicated electric vehicle architecture and inspired by Infiniti's Japanese DNA, the SUV concept previews a product portfolio which will offer high performance, ultra-low emissions, and total range confidence."
Inside, the concept explores how the cabin can become more lounge-like when designers no longer need to conform to the physical design constraints of internal-combustion powertrains.
"QX Inspiration is the manifestation of our electric ambition and has been 30 years in the making," said Infiniti design director Karim Habib.
