Maserati to get smaller SUV, all-new Quattroporte and Levanteby Justin King
The next-gen Quattroporte and Levante will be available with an all-electric powertrain alongside the Alfieri.
The luxury brand is developing an all-new midsize SUV to slot below the Levante. It will be built upon a lightweight platform with 50/50 weight distribution, offering "superior ride & handling" and best-in-class power-to-weight ratio.
A redesigned Quattroporte and Levante are also on the way. Notably, the new models will be offered with all-electric powertrains. Taking aim at Tesla and the Porsche Mission E, Maserati's EVs will utilize an 800-volt battery and three-motor all-wheel drive with torque vectoring.
The company also intends to bring the Alfieri to market as a coupe and cabriolet. Billed as the first luxury EV coupe, the Alfieri promises to hit 62 mph in around two seconds and top out at 186 mph.
All of the new models are slated to arrive by 2022.
