The new Altima will look a lot like the Vmotion 2.0 Concept.
Nissan has released a teaser image of its upcoming 2019 Altima mid-size sedan. Nissan will formally introduce the 2019 Altima on March 28 at the New York International Auto Show.
The teaser sketch indicates that the next Altima will closely follow the design language laid out by the Vmotion 2.0 Concept that debuted at the 2017 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. In fact, it looks as though Nissan hasn't changed much in the leap from concept to production — like the show car, the 2019 Altima features an over-sized V-shaped grille, sleek LED headlights and pronounced body sculpting.
Previous spy photos have already revealed that the new Altima is in line for a major interior update. The 2019 version of the mid-size sedan will feature a larger central infotainment screen and more premium-looking materials. The overall interior design is also more up-scale than today's Altima.
Base versions of the Altima are expected to use a naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine mated to a continuously variable transmission. The optional V6 in today's car will be replaced by a turbocharged inline-four. Front-wheel drive will be standard, but rumors have indicated that Nissan will also offer an all-wheel drive option for the 2019 Altima.
Look for the 2019 Nissan Altima to go on sale shortly after its Big Apple debut.
