Porsche shows Cayman GTS drifting on an indoor kart track [Video]by Justin King
Ad demonstrates handling prowess, exhaust note.
The segment attempts to showcase the Cayman's handling prowess as it drifts around the tight corners of an indoor circuit, which was clearly designed to accommodate much smaller vehicles.
The indoor setting helps accentuate the GTS' exhaust note, hinting at the 340-horsepower flat-six under the hood. Borrowed from the heavier 911 Carrera, the 3.4-liter mill has only been slightly detuned for the highest Cayman trim level.
Porsche suggests the GTS can accelerate up to 60 mph from a standstill in just 4.6 seconds. On an appropriately-sized track, drivers can expect to top out around 177 mph.
Aside from the engine upgrade, the GTS also features Porsche's Sport Chrono package and Active Suspension Management to further improve handling over the base models.
The GTS trim commands a $20,000 premium over the base model, bringing the price up to $75,200.
