Porsche launches short-term rental service

Prices start at $269 for four hours in a Macan or 718 Cayman or Boxster, to $2,909 for a week in a 911.

Porsche has launched Drive, a short-term rental program starting with two pilot programs on the East and West Coast.

The service allows drivers to get behind the wheel of various Porsche models for just a few hours or up to a week.

Prices start at $269 (excluding taxes and fees) for four hours in a 718 Cayman/Boxster or Macan, to $2,909 for a full week in a 911. Vehicles from all six model lines will be available.

Porsche Drive will initially launch in Atlanta. Once a reservation is confirmed, a vehicle will be delivered within two hours via white-glove concierge service.

The company has also outlined plans for a second peer-to-peer car-sharing service, Porsche Host, that will be developed with help from Turo. The program will launch October 8 in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
