The company is attempting to expand its factory-customized trucks, riding on the success of the Ram Rebel.Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has expanded the Ram 1500 lineup with a new 'Night' package for the 2017 model year.As the name implies, the special configuration centers around the popular blacked-out theme. Based on the Sport edition, the 'Night' features gloss black 20-inch wheels and a black grille surround with 'Hex Perf' pattern inserts.
Badging also opts for a dark hue in place of the traditional chrome finish, with a black Ram's head and a RAM stamped tailgate with black lettering borrowed from the Ram 1500 Rebel.
The Night package is available on the regular cab, quad cab and crew cab variants, in both two- and four-wheel drive and long or short bed lengths. Buyers can also choose between FCA's 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 or a 5.7-liter HEMI V8.
The Ram 1500 Night could be a sign of things to come as FCA attempts to capitalize on the ongoing demand for 'factory-customized' pickups, slotting between Ram's standard lineup and the more extreme Rebel edition.
