Many have doubted that Fisker would ever make it to production with its exotic Karma performance hybrid, but this latest report suggests they are still on track.

The last report by Leftlane concerning the future of the Fisker Karma suggested the start of production in Q1, 2011.

Today, Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies, a key supplier for the Karma's Q-Drive powertrain, announced that Fisker had placed an order for $30 million worth of parts to be used in the Q-Drive powertrain system. In addition to that crucial update, Green Car Reports is also reporting that Fisker is specifically targeting February 2011 for the start of production.

It is also worth noting that Fisker Automotive is a private company that was co-founded and is currently co-owned by Quantum and Fisker Coachbuild.

Fisker has stated that it intends to produce 15,000 vehicles per year, starting in 2011.
