Shelby GT350 gets refined aerodynamics, chassis tuning for 2019by Justin King
The updates reduce drag and increase downforce for improved track times.
Ford has announced several upgrades for the 2019 Mustang Shelby GT350.
Borrowing aerodynamic advancements from the upcoming Shelby GT500, the refreshed GT350 benefits from an all-new rear spoiler and optional Gurney flap for improved downforce and reduced air resistance.
Engineers have revised the GT350's MagneRide suspension to complement the revised aerodynamics, tweaking the spring rates and damping. The electric power-assist steering, anti-lock braking and electronic stability control have also been adjusted, drawing from hundreds of hours of competitive track testing.
Ford collaborated with Michelin to customize a set of Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, with a GT350-specific tread pattern and different rubber compound to improve acceleration, braking and lateral grip.
Buyers are also treated to a few interior upgrades including a standard eight-inch infotainment system, dual-zone climate control and available power adjustable seats.
Ford expects to begin shipping the 2019 GT350 early next year.
