Ram is going all-out with its all-new 1500 pickup.

Ram's next-generation 1500 pickup truck will take a major leap forward in terms of interior design and equipment, a fresh round of spy shots has revealed.Although pickup trucks still have somewhat of an agricultural image, there will be nothing low-tech about the 2019 Ram 1500. Our latest spy shots reveal that at least some versions of the 2019 1500 will come equipped with a large, vertically-oriented touch screen display that's reminiscent of what you'd find in the center stack of a Tesla. That big screen is presumably running the latest version of FCA's Uconnect infotainment system, which is capable of running both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Despite the shift to a larger touchscreen display, it looks as though the 2019 Ram will retain plenty of physical buttons. In the center stack we can clearly see knobs and buttons for things like radio volume and fan speed.

Other high-tech features of the new Ram are expected to include self-park assist, lane keep assist and a power-activated rear tailgate. Ram models equipped with the optional rear suspension will also get a remote function to lower the vehicle to make loading people and cargo easier.

Ram has already confirmed that the all-new 2019 1500 will make its debut at January's Detroit auto show. Sales are scheduled to begin in early 2018.
