A teaser image appears to revive the Tuatara project after several years of silence.
SSC North America, formerly known as Shelby Supercars, has released a teaser image hinting at a revived Tuatara.
The company's Ultimate Aero set a Guinness World Record several years ago after completing a 267-mph run, powered by a 6.9-liter V8 with around 1,300 horsepower.
The same engine was to be used for the Tuatara, a $1.3 million supercar that reportedly landed 10 orders in Dubai but failed to mature from concept to production.
"The Evolution is Coming," SSC's website now says, with a picture of a car that appears to borrow a few styling cues from the shelved Tuatara.
The Washington-based company has not yet released more details of its latest supercar project.
