Tesla initially rolled out simplified configurations for the Model 3, hoping to avoid production delays caused by overly complicated ordering options. The company promised to launch new features as output volume ramps up, however.
Buyers will have to wait at least six to nine months to lease a Model 3, though Musk says "loan financing is a better deal anyway" since Tesla vehicles have a stronger residual value than typical cars.
