The Minnesota accident left the Model S overturned in a marsh beside the road.

Update: The driver has contradicted initial reports, clarifying that Autopilot was not to blame.A local CBS report citing the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office suggests David Clark was driving east on 172nd Avenue Northeast in Irving Township when the vehicle lost control and overturned in a small marsh.

Clark and four passengers reportedly suffered minor injuries in the accident.

Initial reports suggested Clark had blamed Autopilot for the accident, but he has since clarified in an e-mail to the Sheriff's department that he had disengaged the semi-autonomous system at the time of the crash.

"I did not intend to put the blame Tesla or the auto pilot system as I am aware that I need to be in control of the vehicle regardless if the auto pilot system is engaged or not," he wrote, as quoted by Reuters.
