Tesla offers 'Enhanced Anti-Theft' sensor accessory

The system detects motion in the cabin and senses if the vehicle is tilted or moved.

Tesla has expanded its aftermarket accessories with a new Enhanced Anti-Theft sensor package.

Available for the Model S and X, the system detects motion inside the cabin and senses if the vehicle has been tilted or moved. If disturbed, the sensor uses an audible alarm to warn against theft.

The company recently warned users to disable passive entry or store their key fob in a Faraday-cage sleeve to protect against a "relay attack." The hack is used by thieves to steal vehicles if they can get close enough to the signal from the key fob, even if the keys are inside a house while the car is in the driveway.

The anti-theft accessory costs $350, including installation.
