Tesla's machine-vision algorithms eliminate the need for dedicated rain or sun sensors.
As promised, Tesla has apparently begun testing rain-sensing wipers for the Model S, X and 3.
The company has employed 'neural net' algorithms to visually detect water droplets on the windshield, eliminating the need for dedicated rain or sun sensors.
"Computers are very patient," Tesla CEO Elon Musk wrote in a Twitter post.
A YouTube video shows the wipers in action, quickly sweeping the glass clean after the windshield is coated with water from a spray bottle.
