The Dodge Demon is pretty amazing.

With a supercharged V8 engine that produces 840 horsepower and 770 lb-ft of torque, it's pretty obvious that the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is a bonkers vehicle. But just to put all of its craziness into perspective, Dodge released a few interesting facts about the Demon on Friday.Fuel efficiency was never going to be the Demon's strong suit, but the 6.2L V8 gulps dino juice at a shocking rate at full chap. Just how much fuel does it go through? Dodge says the Demon's fuel pump moves along 1.36 gallons per minute, which is not far off from the 2 gallons per minute the average shower head spits out.

And gas isn't the only thing the Demon swallows at full throttle. During just one quarter-mile pass the Demon's supercharger will suck down 173 cubic feet of air, or roughly the lung capacity of 816 humans. Put another way, the Demon would suck all of the air out of its cabin just past the half-way mark of the quarter mile.

Brute force is another calling card of the Demon, with each piston and connecting rod subject to 11 tons of force on each power stroke. Amazingly, each piston and rod is taking that abuse 50 times a second at 6,300rpm.

The Demon is capable of doing wheels stands right out of the box thanks in large to the car's fantastic front-to-rear weight transfer. Smash the gas from a dead stop and about 2,500 pounds shifts from the Demon's nose to its tail. As a result, accelerating in the Demon produces 1.8g.

The Challenger SRT Demon will arrive in Dodge showrooms later this year with a starting price of $86,090.
