The new package features unique styling and upgraded lights, wheels and other components.
Toyota is ready to ship its new 2017 Tacoma TRD Pro to showrooms across the country.
Unveiled early this year in Chicago, the new Tacoma package is the latest model to join Toyota's TRD Pro lineup. Prices will start at $41,700 with a six-speed manual gearbox, which boasts Toyota's A-TRAC 4WD traction control system to manage power delivery to all four wheels without cutting throttle input.
Opting for a six-speed automatic transmission brings the price up to $43,700. The auto lacks A-TRAC but adds a Crawl Control system that modulates both throttle and brakes to maintain progress at one of five selectable speed levels.
All variants are based on the Tacoma 4x4 Double Cab Short Bed model. The pickup has been outfitted with 2.5-inch FOX internal-bypass dampers, one-inch lifted front springs and progressive-rate rear leaf springs.
The TRD Pro package is easy to spot, thanks to a retro TOYOTA logo on the blacked-out grille, black 16-inch alloy wheels, an aluminum front skidplate, black projector bezels, upgraded LED fog lights and other modifications.
The first examples will begin arriving in US showrooms later this month.
