Volkswagen has released a unique 'techno vibe' photo gallery of the Arteon ahead of its US arrival.
The automaker hired photographer and filmmaker Douglas Sonders to take the shots. Models Shelby Bay and Krislian Rodriguez are featured in several of the images.
"It's important to capture a car's essence," says Sonders. "I develop an emotional attachment to my cars, and they each have a personality in their designs. The Volkswagen Arteon has a beautiful modern edge, from the shoulder lines to the grille, and I wanted to do it justice."
Sonders was inspired by "'80s synth wave music" and the associated visuals from the era.
The Arteon will serve as a replacement for the CC, stretching around five inches thanks to its MQB-platform underpinnings. It will be available exclusively with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine at launch, providing 268 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. VW's 4Motion all-wheel drive will be available as an option for every trim level.
The company says the Arteon will be available at US dealers late this year.
