New Chrysler Imperial images: a mini Rolls-Royce?

The images have been removed at the request of Motor Trend, but we have a new Chrysler Imperial gallery here. The February 2006 issue of Motor Trend contains what appear to be computer renderings or photos of the 2006/2007/2008 Chrysler Imperial and Dodge Challenger. While the Challenger photos reveal nothing new, the the Imperial images offer the first glimpse to date of the forthcoming luxury car from Chrysler. The Challenger images match recent pictures and spy shots exactly, which potentially lends to the credibility of the Imperial photos. In early December, it was rumored that Chrysler might be planning to revive the Imperial nameplate, which was discontinued in 1993. Sources said that if the Chrysler 300C is a "baby Bentley,"? the Imperial would be a "baby Rolls-Royce Phantom." Based on the Motor Trend images, the car appears to take heavy inspiration from the Phantom. The Imperial is expected to debut in early January at the Detroit auto show, alongside the Challenger.
