Ford to keep Freestyle, can Mercury crossover

Ford will not discontinue its Freestyle crossover, despite predictions from analysts that it would in mid-2007, reports Crain's Chicago Business. Ford has, however, cancelled plans for a Mercury version of the vehicle, Anne Stevens, Ford's chief operating officer said yesterday. The announcements are part of Ford's "Way Forward" plan, announced last month. Ford had been expected to kill the Freestyle following the introduction of the 2007 Ford Edge crossover.
