2007 Mercedes CLS 63 AMG, CLK 63 AMG
Mercedes-Benz today announced two new hot AMG models -- the 2007 Mercedes CLS 63 AMG and 2007 Mercedes CLK 63 AMG. Both cars are very similar to their 5.4-liter predecessors in appearance, but use the automaker's new 6.3-liter naturally-aspirated V8 instead. The CLS63 AMG offers up 515 horsepower, and can reach 62 mph in a stunning 4.5 seconds. The CLK63 AMG has a slightly detuned 481 horsepower version of the engine. Mercedes has not disclosed the 0-62 mph time for the CLK. Both models use the German carmaker's AMG Speedshift 7G-Tronic transmission -- a seven-speed automatic gearbox with selectable gears.
