The 2009 Ford Mustang? Not quite...

With the Dodge Challenger Concept and Chevrolet Camaro Concept expected to translate into production cars in 2008 or 2009, many Ford fans are wondering what the automaker has in store for the Mustang. This week, an started circulating among auto enthusiasts purportedly of the 2009 Ford Mustang. Unfortunately the image (shown right) is simply a sketch of the 2005 Mustang GT Concept. Like most concept sketches, this image has a slightly lower roofline than the actual car. Apparently, this lead some to believe it represented the next-generation 'Stang. While rumors that the '09 Mustang will have a lower roofline more aggressive lines may be true, the image shown is not representative of any design direction. That said, we love the idea of a 2009 Mustang with some modern design cues, such as a higher beltline, shorter greenhouse, and sharper lines. We'll keep you posted as this story develops...
