New Smart ForTwo due in April 2007

The successor to the Smart ForTwo should be on sale in April 2007, a spokesperson for the DaimlerChrysler told Reuters. However, the spokesperson denied a report by Germany's Focus magazine suggesting the company was rushing to get the old model off the market. Production was reportedly shifted from summer to spring. The Reuters also indicates that Chrysler will bring the new Smart model to the United States, where it plan to sell 20,000 units per year.
