More details on 2007 Mercedes SLR (and SLR roadster)

Germany's Auto Motor und Sport is reporting that the Mercedes SLR will get a boost from 626 to 650 horsepower, a revised interior, reduced overall weight, even better brakes, and a new wheel design. All this means the car will hit 62 mph in 3.6 seconds instead of 3.8, and 125 mph in 10.2 instead of 10.6 seconds. Mercedes plans to build 150 SLR coupes per year until the end of 2007. At that point, the number of coupes will be lowered due to the introduction of the SLR roadster, which is expected to sell more units.
