Tuner pushes Elise to sub-3-second 0-60

Tuner Forcedfed is offering kits to boost the lightweight Lotus Elise from 190 horsepower to 275 or 380 horses. Forcedfed's "275" kit is priced at $8,995. Meanwhile, the full "380R" package costs even more than the car -- $44,995 for the kit. (The Elise costs $42,000). Because the Elise weighs just 2,500 pounds, 380 horsepower is good to take the car to 60 mph in less than three seconds. $86,000 might sound like a lot for a Lotus Elise, but keep in mind that the $1 million Bugatti Veryron probably wouldn't be any quicker to 60.
